What's New September 2011

Some of the sources and titles mentioned below are subscription dependent, please contact your account manager or call us on 020 7400 2984 if you would like to discuss adding any of these services to your existing subscription.

CaseSearch - Your launch pad for cases research

Need an overview about a case? CaseSearch gives you all the key information you need.

We’ve made things a little easier by moving the Digest of a case to the top of the CaseSearch document so you can quickly see what a case is about. All the existing information such as the case history and cases considered are still there, but you can now scan the Digest first for relevancy.

What’s next?

More Journals. We’re going to be adding 30 leading full text journals over the next few months from Bloomsbury and Cambridge University Press. That means more articles in key practice areas such as crime, European law, healthcare, and much more.

Can’t remember that legal definition? Try LexisNavigator

We’ve continued to expand LexisNavigator with more terms and now cover over 1000 terms. To use LexisNavigator, simply type your term in the ‘Find a legal term’ in the QuickFind search on your home page or on the practice area pages.

We’ve also been adding links to practical guidance in LexisPSL to give you quick and easy answers.

Even More Commentary

We continue to provide our users with the best content, and this month the following titles have gone online:

  • Fully updated and expanded to include the law of privacy, new developments such as harassment, the Human Rights Act, data protection and important cases such as Reynolds v Times Newspapers.
  • Regularly updated to incorporate new developments in the field of libel and privacy.

Annotations: Understand Legislation

Need to understand legislation? We have Annotations on all our Acts, and on 220 of them, we have added case notes which relate to the provision you’re in. Most recently, we’ve included notes on the hottest topic in the field of residential landlord and tenant, tenancy deposit schemes under the Housing Act 2004, ss 212–215. Notoriously difficult to understand, these provisions have spawned no fewer than 6 cases in the Court of Appeal and High Court over the last 2 years, including 3 in the last 6 months. You can now find succinct summaries of what they decided in Annotations.

Simply click on the Annotations button on each UK Parliament Acts provision:
